Cincinnati Tournament 2005 Photo Story

A day in the life of our team...

(click on photos to enlarge them)

Our day started off, of course, waking up...

Once we got to the facility, we had to check out the lanes and their conditions...

As you can see, they were as wet as if someone had poured baby oil directly on them....

Now it's time to consider what type of balls we'll be using for the conditions and it's time to strategize. Here's our Coach Wells deep in thought... she's apparently consulting with our team mascot on the days events.

While Coach Wells is strategizing, some of the varsity girls go up to check on the lane conditions themselves... they're on their way back to discuss the situation and what they think they should expect from these conditions. As you can see, they are deep in thought just from looking at the lanes..

In the meantime, the bowling facility has graciously welcomed us by posting a message on the screens...

A few of the girls, in the meantime, want us to take a picture of them with the team mascot.

...and then finally practice for the tournament begins...

While the team is still practicing, some of the parents notice something that might obstruct their view of the tournament. We contemplated cutting it down, but decided to shove it under the counter that was in front of them. This wasn't going to work. It kept popping back up.

Even the smallest obstruction during an event like this can drive parents insane. We eventually untied it and put it in another room. Since we really couldn't take any photos during the actual event due to the flash on the camera, we waited until the end when they were announcing the winners. We were so happy to hear our teams' names!

Of course we wanted to show you a photo of the winning South Girls Team! 1st place, 2nd year in a row!

Wait! We need one more picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even our mascot was having a great time!

... and now for the South Boys Team! They came in 3rd! Awesome....

After the announcement of the winning teams, the team, coaches, and parents were consumed with happiness!

Each player that won got individual medals, and the 1st tournament team winner, Danielle C., and the second tournament team winner, Joy A., got plaques. This is the girls 1st place trophy!

We DO have the world in our hands! At least it felt like it after that humongous win!

... now it's off to eat for the entire team, coaches and parents. A well deserved fantastic meal!

Of course after the meal we were going to all head home. Some of us wanted to, of course, use the "facility" before we left, but we had a heck of a time finding them. The sign on the wall pointed to a corner. Lots of people tried going into the corner to find the doors, but they weren't there. They were further around the corner. They tricked us!

Ok... well that's what happened on the day of the Cincinnati, OH, tournament.

GO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
