- Congratulations go out to the WSHS Girls Varsity for taking 4th place, and the WSHS Boys Varsity for
taking 11th place in the State Championship Tournament at Tiki Lanes!!!
It was an awesome showing and a ton of
bowling fun!
The WSHS Varsity Girls Team set the record
for the highest baker game with a 247 in the State of Ohio High School
Bowling Championship Tournament! Our Own Danielle C. had the girls high game of the
day at a 250 and both Danielle C and Mark M took 6th place in individual scores! You can see all records by clicking

The season is now over and we look forward
to next fall when the Wildcats gear up for another fun and exciting season. Be

2/26/07 - Congratulations go out to
the WSHS Girls Varsity for taking first place, and the WSHS Boys Varsity for
taking second place in District Tournament at HP Lanes on 2/24/07!!!
Both teams now move on to
the State Tournament at
Tiki Lanes.
The girls will be bowling on 3/2 at 11am and
the boys will be bowling on 3/3 at 11am. Make sure to come out and watch the
best teams in the State of Ohio compete for the honor of being named the State
Champions!

2/16/07 - Congratulations go out to
WSHS Girls Varsity Team for taking first place in the Sectionals and to the
WSHS Boys Varsity Team for taking 6th place in the Sectionals at Eastland

1/24/07 - The banquet date has been confirmed and is on
Tuesday, March 13th at 6pm at the Vineyard Church on Cooper Road.
Tickets to the banquet will go on sale soon. Bowlers, Coaches,
and all family and friends are encouraged to come. We still
REALLY need people to volunteer to be on the decorating
committee. In addition to helping in this area, we need someone
to head it up. We want to make this a banquet to remember! If you
can help, PLEASE Contact Dee Harrah.

Pickerington, on the 30th we're at home (Palace) vs. Bishop
Harley, and on that same day we have Senior Recognition Day.

Recently
some of the team members designed and bought hoodies,
sweatshirts, and sweatpants. Some of the parents really liked the
new design and wish to inquire if others are interested. There
has to be a minimum on the order though so we need to know if
others are interested so we can place our order all at one time.

Make sure to
check out the schedule as it's been updated with the latest
important dates including our new Alumni Day, Strike-A-Thon, Senior Day,
and the last senior ball. This
is a tradition that we've done each year for our seniors. Each
senior will throw their last ball while being surrounded by their
coaches and teammates. Family members of Seniors are encouraged
to join us for this special day.
12/11/06 - We're gearing up for this weekend's Cincinnati
Holiday Tournament! We hope to see everyone there.
On Tuesday we'll be handing out lunch forms to the kids so that
they can order lunches for Saturday. Families feel free to put in
your orders as well. We're ordering subs from Yogie's Hoagies for
the lunches. Lunch will include a drink, a cookie, a 8 inch sub,
and a bag of chips for $6.00. Orders and money must be returned
by Wednesday so we can place our order for Saturday. Please give
all orders and monies to Mrs. Arrigo on Wednesday BEFORE
practice.
Reminder: Team photos will be taken on Tuesday 12/12. Please be
in full uniform!
The program booklet has been created and dropped off at the
printer. We anticipate having them back by the end of this week,
or beginning of next week at the latest. Thanks to all who placed
ads and participated in selling them. Make sure to get your copy
at the next home match! Every person and business who placed an
ad will receive a thank you mailing and a copy of the program. :)
Note: on 12/12 at 5:30pm is a team council meeting. We still need
to coordinate the parent council. Those who are interested should
contact Coach Hatfield for details.
Note: on 12/15, after practice, or during (parents), you can pick
up your candle orders. Thanks to all who participated in this
fundraiser!
12/03/06 - Fundraising for the candles and the seasonal
program is over. The candles have been ordered and you will be
able to pickup your order, after practice, on 12/15/06. The
seasonal program is being created at this very moment, and will
be sent to the printers on the week of 12/10/06 or possibly
before. Thanks to all team members who participated in our
fundraisers and thanks to all those who bought ads to place in
our program. A list of our ad sponsors can be seen
here.
If you bought an ad, you will be sent a program along with a
thank you note as soon as we get them back from the printers.
The online
team bowling schedule has been
updated so make sure to check that out. As you are aware, we have
a match against Troy on 12/9/06, and the Holiday Tournament
coming up on 12/16/06 in Cincinnati. We need to know who's
parents are going as some of the team members may need rides or
we'll need help getting the bowling equipment to those events. If
you are going, please contact Coach West so that he can
coordinate who can take team members or equipment.

The first Team
Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 12 at 5:30.
We would like to have the parents to try and have their first
parent council meeting prior to this date and then elect one
member to be the parent representative at the Team Council
meeting on the 12th. If anyone is interested in doing this,
please contact Coach Hatfield so we can get this rolling as time
is running short. This is a very important step in maintaining
communications and relations between the team, coaches, and the
parents on certain topics and issues that may arrise.

- Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! The Best of the Best
Tournament was last weekend we we would like to thank all who
came and supported the team. Especially those who volunteered
time to help the team with collecting door money, helping with
the bake sale, selling raffle tickets, and assisting the
tournament director and coaches with tasks. Your time and help is
extremely appreciated!

Boys ended up in 6th place, and the WSHS Varsity Girls ended up
in 9th place. Two of our teammates made the All Tournament Teams.
They were Mark M. for the boys, and Danielle C. for the girls.

Our next big

- We'd like to wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving! We
look forward to seeing everyone at this weekend's "Best of the
Best" Tournament. Date: 11/25/06 Start time: 12pm. Cost to get
in: $6 per person.
For those of
you who have volunteered to work the tournament, thank you!
Here's what is
needed: We need all tables & doors covered until end of 2nd game.
We may need to switch shifts at the start of tournament for
parents who have kids that will be bowling with parents of those
who aren't bowling as we will need the tables and doors covered
until the end of the second game.

Don't forget that each team member needs to bring 2 dozen of
whatever they would like to make for bake sale on Saturday.
Thanks ahead fo time for your food donation to our bake sale! You
can make cookies, rice krispie treats, brownies, cupcakes,
whatever you want. Please put them in baggies and put 2 items in
each baggie. If you're making cupcakes, please only put one per
baggie.
One other note is that we are in the process of forming a parent
council as part of our team council. (Please see page 15 of your
team handbooks for explanation of team council responsibilities)
We are seeking any parent who wishes to be on this council to to
do so. If you are interested, please contact Coach Hatfield and
let him know. The parent council can meet as often as it likes
but twice per month is suggested.

- Website updated! Please make sure you check our schedule often
so you can keep up to date with meeting times, fundraiser
deadlines, match dates, and other important things that are
happening. Our schedule can be seen online by clicking
here.
11/5/06
- Tryouts will be from 3:15pm - 5:15pm on Monday, November 13th,
and Tuesday, November 14th, 2006 at the
Columbus Square Bowling Palace.
All students will bowl four games each day. Both day's scores
will be added together and the top 5 boys and the top 5 girls
totals will automatically make the team. The coaching staff will
choose the remainder of the boys and the girls teams on an
at-large basis.
Team rosters will be announced
on Wednesday, November 15th at 3:15pm at the Palace. There
will be a mandatory team meeting directly following the
announcements of who made the team. Total cost to participate
will be $250.00. Do not call the school for team rosters. They
will not have any information who who made the team.
For those students making the team, there will be a
mandatory parent meeting, Thursday,
November 16th at the Palace. This meeting will be divided into two sessions.
For those who haven't attended our pre-season parent meeting before (new
parents), the meeting will start at 6:30pm and end approximately 8pm. For
returning team parents, you are invited to join us from 7pm to 8pm. Veteran
parents are welcome to join us at 6:30pm as well if you wish. At this meeting, $125.00 of
your participation fees are due. At the parent meeting there will be
information about how students can fund raise their other $125.00. The balance
of the participation fee is due by January 5th, 2007. Checks should be made
payable to Westerville South H. S. Bowling Team Booster Club.
Practices will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3:15pm - 5:15pm
November thru March. Once the season begins, matches can be any day of the
week from 3:30pm - 5:30pm.
Physicals are due on the first day of practice which is 11/17/06. You can get
physical forms
here. Forms for
participating in our program fundraiser, and our candle fundraiser can be
obtained on that day as well for those of you who don't already have them.
